One consultant, not a firm

Why one consultant beats a consulting firm for AI in a mid-sized business

The discovery phase, the workshop, the roadmap and the team you have not met were built for companies with thousands of staff. For a business your size that model is largely redundant and prohibitively expensive. Here is what you get instead.

What one person gives you that a firm cannot

You get the person you met

The person on the first call does the workshop, reads the survey, builds the automation and presents the findings.

Self-documenting by default

A note for every working day, a record of every decision, a readme a new person can follow. It is how the work gets done now.

Portable to anyone

Everything lives in your repository, written so a developer who has never met me can pick it up.

You own the IP and the code

Assigned in the agreement, in your accounts from the first commit. No licence, no platform, no lock-in.

Risk you can switch off

One user, provisioned like staff, revoked by your admin in a minute. Not a shared login and a spreadsheet of keys.

A fraction of the cost

No discovery phase, no bench to keep busy. Mostly asynchronous and AI-assisted, so an audit is low thousands, not tens.

Tell me what you're dealing with

Three lines is plenty. I reply personally, usually within a day, and the first call is free.

Frequently asked questions

What if you get hit by a bus?

Everything is in your repository with documentation written as it was built. A new provider reads the notes and carries on. That is what portable means.

Can one person really cover strategy, training and building?

For a business with a few dozen people, yes, and it is better that way: nothing is lost in a hand-off. Where a task needs more hands I bring in Momentum, the agency I founded.

Aren’t the big firms safer?

A large firm carries a brand, and also a shared login, a team you have not met, and a commercial model that needs the engagement to grow. My insurance is real, my access is one revocable user, and you can stop after any step.

Do you have insurance?

Professional indemnity and public liability at levels most procurement teams are happy with. Ask and I will send the certificate.

What if we outgrow you?

You have a repository of documented, working automations and a team that knows how to use AI. Hire whoever you like. Nothing has to be rebuilt.

Already been quoted a discovery phase?

Send me the proposal, or just the number. I will tell you what one person would do instead, and where a firm genuinely would be better.
